Residency Verification

Illinois Compiled Statutes, Chapter 105, Section 5/10-20.12b requires that a student reside in a school district in order to attend school in that district. Unfortunately, a number of parents falsify their place of residency so that their children can attend a school other than the one in the school district in which they live. Reasons for this illegal falsification include the preferred school's high academic standing, sports programs, being drug and/or gang free, and being the school which the student's friends attend. These students should be paying tuition to the school district; instead, monies that would have been used for other school programs are used to educate these children. If you suspect that a student is falsely claiming to live in the district, let Sheldon Investigations verify the student's information and actual current residence.
